The Common Council of the City of Bedford, Indiana met for a Public Hearing at 7:00 PM and their Regular City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 at 7:15 PM in the Council Chambers of City Hall. The Honorable Council President Byron Buker called the Public Hearing to order.
Public Hearing – Additional Appropriations for the Comprehensive Planning Grant Fund – Julie Chase, Clerk-Treasurer
· Julie Blackwell-Chase, Clerk-Treasurer, explained to the council that the Comprehensive Planning Grant, which was previously approved, now must have the appropriations approved before the money can be spent. There were no comments for or against and the Council President Byron Buker closed the Public Hearing.
Call To Order– Mayor Girgis called the regular city council meeting to order at 7:15 p.m.

Reading of the May Minutes
- Byron Buker made the motion to accept the minutes as presented and Jack May seconded the motion. All votes were in favor of the motion. Passed
New Business
1. Ordinance__7__2010 – An Ordinance To Make Additional Appropriations For The Comprehensive Planning Grant Fund – Julie Chase, Clerk-Treasurer
WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annual budget, now therefore:
Section 1. BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Bedford, Lawrence County, Indiana, that for the expenses of the taxing unit the following additional sums of money are hereby appropriated out of the funds named and for the purposes specified, subject to the laws governing the same:

· Byron Buker made the motion to approve Ordinance 7-2010 and Patrick Robbins seconded the motion. It was unanimous. Passed-1st Passage
· Patrick Robbins motioned for the second passage and Michele Murphy seconded the motion. All votes were in favor. Passed-2nd Passage
· Byron Buker motioned to suspend the rules and vote for 3rd and final passage and Jack May seconded the motion. Again all votes were in favor of the motion. Passed-Suspension of the Rules
· Jack May made the motion for the 3rd and final passage of Ordinance 7-2010 and Judy Carlisle seconded the motion. All votes were in favor of the motion. Passed-3rd and Final Passage
2. Disaster Application To The Indiana Office Of Community And Rural Affairs And Addressing Related Matters – Misty Adams and Mayor Shawna Girgis
- Mark Scherschel made the motion to approve Resolution 5-2010 and Judy Carlisle seconded the motion. It was unanimous. Passed
3. Resolution__6__2010 – Resolution Approving A Health Insurance Wellness Program For City Employees – Kyle Brown, David and Miles Parker of the Parker Group
WHEREAS, THE City of Bedford (“City”), by its Common Council, desires to improve the overall health of its workforce; and
WHEREAS, the City’s health insurance plan permits the City to implement a Wellness Program which would offer health insurance premium discounts to City health, and
WHEREAS, IT IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE City to offer its employees such discounts to improve their overall health and reduce health insurance claims.
- Mark Scherschel made the motion to approve Resolution 6-2010 and Byron Buker seconded the motion. All votes were in favor. Passed
4. Ordinance__8__2010 – An Ordinance Amending Part Of Chapter 76 Traffic Schedules Of The City Code Of 1983 (As Amended) – Chief Dennis Parsley
· Byron Buker made the motion to approve Ordinance 8-2010 and Jack May seconded the motion. It was unanimous. Passed-1st Passage
· Patrick Robbins motioned for the second passage and Michele Murphy seconded the motion. All votes were in favor. Passed-2nd Passage
· Byron Buker motioned to suspend the rules and vote for 3rd and final passage and Jack May seconded the motion. Again all votes were in favor of the motion. Passed-Suspension of the Rules
· Jack May made the motion for the 3rd and final passage of Ordinance 7-2010 and Judy Carlisle seconded the motion. All votes were in favor of the motion. Passed-3rd and Final Passage
5. Acceptance Of Deed Dedication For Lilac Lane And Rosebud Lane-Green Gables Sub Division – Dan Kirk & Greg Pittman
- Byron Buker made a motion to accept the Deeds of Dedication for Lilac Lane and Rosebud Lane-Green Gables Sub Division and Jack May seconded the motion. All votes were in favor of the motion.Passed

Jack May motioned to adjourn the meeting and Patrick Robbins seconded. All voted in favor. Meeting Adjourned
