Bedford City Hall is located in a former Federalist style private home that was built in 1850. The Mayor's Office has called it home since 1904, making it one of the oldest continuously located city halls in Indiana. The ancient building houses the office of Shawna M. Girgis. Shawna is Bedford's 23rd Mayor, as well as, the first female Mayor in our city's history.
The City Clerk-Treasurer and her staff occupy the back portion of the building. The Police Department’s D.A.R.E. Program, Public Relations Office, and Planning Office are upstairs at this historic structure that is located at 1102 Sixteenth Street.
The Mayor's Office is staffed by Debbi Andry and Kyle Brown. Debbi is the Mayor's Assistant and Office Manager. Kyle is the city's Employee Relations and Community Director.
As the center of the city’s day-to-day operations, the office coordinates the activities of the various city departments, engages in short and long-range planning, works closely with groups and agencies concerned with municipal and social progress, and fields countless daily contacts with the general public.
